K Pop Dance London

Japan in 2019 and a swarm of people ran towards me. I thought about running but there was no time. It turns out that there was a famous K Pop singer only a few metres behind me getting into his taxi. I survived the stampede. It did lead to me Googling a bit more about the genre and to my surprise, it’s one of the most popular genres globally. In fact, in South Korea, over 100 K pop bands debut annually. 

 

I did a shoot in Leicester Square for a local group’s street performance in April 2023. It was great to see so many ages, ethnicities and genders get behind the genre to express it in the form of dance. I enjoyed watching them and I told myself I’d get more involved in photographing other forms of art. 

 

I look forward to seeing their growth and being involved in future projects.
